We live in a world with potential irritants around every corner. We can't go back to an earlier age, we have to live in the world as it is now.
We CAN choose products and habits, and engage in work that allows us to live in a cleaner corner of the world. We can choose foods with low chemical risk, we can create a low toxin home, and little by little, we can benefit from the health improvements that come from reducing our exposure to harmful irritants.
Coping with sensitivities created by chemicals in our world is not an easy thing to do. Allergies and sensitivities to artificial scents, preseratives, chlorine, plastics and other synthetics, adhesives, medications, and other normal elements of modern life can be a daily challenge.
It is worth it though, because once you learn a way to cope with just one thing, all the rest gets easier.
